Drako Dragon electric SUV has 2,000 Horsepower with a top speed of over 200 mph
Checking all the boxes, except breathing fire, the Drako Dragon electric SUV has some crazy specifications. The California-based EV startup Drako Motors still has their Dragon under development but they have claimed the new electric SUV will have 2,000 horses and will hit 206 mph.
Teaser images have been officially released by Drako and they reveal their limited-edition all-electric SUV’s front, tail, and top, as well as a preview of its gullwing doors. There’s also an aggressive hood scoop and some winglets for airflow. The Drako Dragon electric SUV is currently being developed in Italy and engineered in Silicon Valley, and it represents the brand’s attempt to merge supercar-level performance in a practical crossover body.
Lowie Vermeersch, the company’s lead designer, came up with the Dragon’s athletic body, which will be made almost completely of carbon fiber. The company promises a leather interior with a “unique layout and easy ingress/egress.”
According to a press release, the Dragon will be built using Drako’s DriveOS architecture and have a quad-motor drivetrain coupled to an internal battery system. There will be a “three-stage” adaptive suspension with separate torque control for each wheel. Its 2,000 horsepower will allow the Dragon to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only 1.9 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in just 9.0 seconds. That’s blazing fast.
Drako plans to ship more than a few dozen due to “industrial economies of scale”, as stated by the Californian startup. The company also claims to be opening reservations later this year with full images and more details of the Drako Dragon electric SUV. No price point has been mentioned, but we expect the Dragon to cost over $200,000. Like they all say…ain’t no price too high to become the mother of all dragons.
