610 HP 2023 BMW iX M60 Electric SUV Is A Loft On Wheels

The design team behind the BMW iX M60 electric SUV took inspiration from modern architecture

When introducing the BMW iX M60 electric SUV, design director for BMW Group Adrian van Hooydonk stated that the project started with a discussion of the vehicle’s interior atmosphere. With a goal in mind “to create something like a loft on wheels”, the BMW’s new luxurious electric SUV aims to be the total package for the consumer.

Newly created in 2022, the iX has a distinctive structure made of high-strength steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber. The chassis employs a control-arm suspension made primarily of aluminum, with two lower links up front and multiple links at the back.

The iX M60 sports upgraded front and rear electric motors that can generate up to 610 horsepower in sport mode and 811 pound-feet of torque with launch control. These numbers surpass the xDrive50 by a staggering 247 pound-feet and 94 horsepower.

Though some may argue that the fascia’s kidney gills are unpleasant, we’d like to think it works on the silhouette of the BMW iX M60 electric SUV. The curves and sighlights also seem to work perfectly with the car’s ride height. Inside you can find Titanium Bronze highlights along with vivid blue seatbelts for a stunning look.

Some other outstanding interior features include more than ample legroom, technologically advanced infotainment with touch controls, and a compact center console with gauges and settings. Need a lumbar massage? The car’s iDrive controller has got you covered. That’s not all folks — aside from the glass and wood physical controls, there’s a gesture control and speech-activated BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

So how does it ride? The BMW iX M60 electric SUV is extremely quiet with a drag coefficient of just 0.26. Thanks to the accurate steering and a special, M-enhanced adaptive dual-axle air suspension that has lightning fast reaction to acceleration, road speed, and steering angles, the ride is as smooth as butter.

The MPGe lists 76 miles in the city and 80 miles on the highway. With a starting MSRP of $108,900, the iX M60 is undoubtedly a cut above its rivals while combining luxury, performance, and comfort. BMW hit this one spot on.
