Starting at $48,400, the 2023 Polestar 2 electric hatchback will come in two variants
With new colors, wheels, and more power and range, the 2023 Polestar 2 electric hatchback was unveiled on Wednesday by Volvo’s luxury offshoot. Two options will be available: a 231 horsepower single motor and a 476 horsepower dual-motor.
Priced at $48,400, the single-motor variant offers 243 ft lbs of torque in addition to its 231 horses. On par with the 2022 model, it will also hold a range of 270 miles. The dual-motor variant will cost $51,900 for its 476 horses and 502 ft lbs of torque, but its range will take a slight hit at 260 miles. In fact, this range is actually higher than the 2022 dual-motor model which only held 249 miles.
The $7,500 tax credit is still eligible on the 2023 Polestar 2 electric hatchback, bringing the starting price down to $42,300 for the single-motor model. The Pilot Pack costs $3,400, the Plus Pack costs $4,200, and the Performance Pack for the dual-motor variant costs $5,500. The Pilot Pack adds 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, and other safety features.
A feature found in the Plus Pack is the mechanical heat pump which now enhances the EV’s driving range between 20 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing the vehicle to retain range in real-world circumstances. The Plus Pack also includes a new cabin air filter with an improved particulate matter sensor that measures the air quality within the car versus the outside air.
The 2023 Polestar 2 electric hatchback will come in two new colors, “Space” and “Jupiter”. Space is a metallic shade of black while Jupiter is an off-white goldish-grey with a red flake. These new colors may be combined with new wheel designs for both the standard 19-inch “five-double-spoke black diamond cut alloy” wheels and the optional 20-inch “four-Y-spoke black polished forged alloy”wheels. Within the interior is a new Zinc gray tone of Nappa leather, as well as a new Light Ash trim.
Deliveries of the 2023 Polestar 2 are scheduled to start in September of this year.
