Expect to see the flagship 2024 Audi A8 E-Tron EV to debut year
If you’ve been waiting on the Grandsphere prototype to go into production, the upcoming 2024 Audi A8 E-Tron EV has got you covered. The upcoming full-size electric sedan will be the new generation of the A8 and reports have stated that it’ll share the sleek and sophisticated traits from the 2021 Grandspher prototype unveiling and its Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture co-developed with Porsche.
This falls in line with Audi’s plan to go fully electric by 2026 and ending the sales of internal combustion engines by 2033. The German marque has not provided tech specs of the 2024 Audi A8 E-Tron EV, but if we to go by what’s provided with the Grandsphere prototype it should hold a 120-kWh battery with a max range of 466 miles and two electric motors that can output 710 horses and 708 pounds-foot of torque.
The Grandsphere was also listed to hit zero-to-sixty in just a bit over four seconds. Its battery will be able to charge from 5 to 80% in around 20 minutes.
We expect the elegant yet edgy suicide doors to be included on the 2024 Audi A8 E-Tron EV. The wood, aluminum, glass, and wool materials used in the Grandsphere are also expected to come featured, as those aren’t too hard to come by. As for the MMI touch-response infotainment projection display, that’ll remain to be seen in the debut.
In other news for Audi, the company has confirmed their new Audi Q6 E-Tron, A4 E-Tron, and A6 E-Tron will launch all on the PPE platform. Porsche will launch their new Macan EV on PPE as well.
