Truck lovers, revel! In late 2020, it looks like we might be seeing the first all-electric trucks hitting the market. Check out the electric trucks compared below. We have compiled specs available to date on projected ratings from Tesla, Atlis, Bollinger and Rivian from Tinkering Thomas YouTube video above!

Tesla

  • Release Date: No official release date, however OFFICIAL DEBUT NOVEMBER 21, 2019
  • Drive time: 400-500 miles
  • Charge time: n/a
  • Passengers: 6
  • Towing Capacity: 300,000 lbs
  • System: Dual motor AWD
  • Ground Clearance: adjustable air suspension
  • Speed: n/a 
  • Cost: ~$50,000
  • Notes: 240 volt power for work tools. Speculation that this will be equipped with the million mile battery. Previous renderings suggest this truck will be so large that an F-150 can fit inside the bed of the truck, and you can still operate it with your regular driver’s license. 

Rivian 

  • Release Date: Late 2020
  • Drive Time: 230-400+ mile range
  • Charge Time: 50% charge in 30 minutes
  • Passengers: 5-7 people
  • Towing Capacity: 11,000 lbs towing 
  • System: Quad motor AWD 
  • Ground Clearance: 14.2 in
  • Speed: 0-60 in 3 seconds
  • Cost: $70K
  • Notes: Investments by Amazon & Ford. Will be available with 105, 135 & 180 KWH battery options. Said to be able to drive through 1 meter of water.

Atlis

  • Release Date: No official release date

  • Charge Time: Fully charge in 15 minutes 
  • Passengers: N/A
  • Towing Capacity: 35,000lbs 
  • System: Quad motor AWD 
  • Ground Clearance: 12 inches standard model with 15 inches option
  • Speed: 120 mph in 5 seconds 
  • Cost: $45,000 or 700$/month
  • Notes: Atlis will replace review mirrors with cameras and is said to have a 5000 lb pay load 

Bollinger 

  • Release Date: Unknown, production starts in 2020
  • Drive Time: 200 miles
  • Charge Time: 75 minutes 
  • Passengers: 4
  • Towing Capacity: 7,500
  • System: Dual motor AWD
  • Ground Clearance: 15 inches
  • Speed: 0-60 in 4.5 seconds
  • Cost: $125,000
  • Notes: Pass through door design. Battery hosts 120 kwh. This company is completely privately funded.

We would also like to add that Ford has announced that they will make an all-electric truck. There are no specs available yet but they did release a video showing their electric F150 prototype towing 1 million pounds.
