The Hummingbird Flax plant based eBike only weighs 22 pounds!
Due to its frame design, the Hummingbird Flax plant based eBike might just be the lightest folding eBike in the world. The Flax features a sustainable plant-based flax fiber all-in-one construction that’s both incredibly light and sturdy.
According to Hummingbird, the Flax’s fiber frame is the reason for its low weight. Because of this, both the waste produced during manufacturing and the frame itself are biodegradable. It’s also equally as durable as its heavier, less sustainable carbon-fiber competition.
The presence of the batteries inside the case is what causes the 250W motor to be larger. Stuffing the motor, controller, batteries, sensors, and other necessary hardware all into one package helps offer a more streamlined look for the Hummingbird Flax plant based eBike. Additionally, it indicates that the bike’s entire weight is all at the back.
Even though the battery is fairly small at 158 Wh, Hummingbird nevertheless asserts that the maximum range is 31 miles (50 kilometers).
