Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance Edition 1 Announced
Mercedes-AMG, the German luxury marque’s performance sub-brand, is set to release a hybrid sedan named the S63 E Performance Edition 1. Becoming even more desirable than ever, it will include a variety of particular features, including a model-specific paint job, unique wheels, and luxurious interior accents.
The Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance Edition 1 combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with a 13.1-kWh battery pack powered electrical motor installed on the rear axle. The internal combustion engine is capable of producing up to 603 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque on its own, but the addition of the electric motor increases overall output to 791 horsepower and 1,055 pound-feet of torque.
A nine-speed automatic transmission distributes power to all four wheels. This super sedan can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 mph. The electric motor also provides a 20-mile driving range on all electric power.
Every single version of the Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance Edition 1 is painted with Manufaktur alpine gray uni paint and comes installed with AMG’s Exterior Night Package which darkens all of the chrome accents. It’s also equipped with AMG cross-spoke forged wheels measuring 21 inches with red brake calipers hidden behind them.
Mercedes has not yet revealed interior photos, but it will include black Nappa leather seats with red seams that contrast with the black. The sporty steering wheel is also covered in Nappa leather. The black and red color scheme is consistent throughout, and features a distinctive Edition 1 logo engraved in the console as well as an illuminated red AMG emblem on the door sills.
The marque’s most potent flagship is now being produced in Germany, and deliveries are scheduled to start this summer.
