Transforming classic cars into EVs, the Lunaz Design remasters are a work of art
Upcycling EV company Lunaz Design remasters and modernizes some of the best classic cars in history. The British marque has been restoring, re-engineering, and converting Astons Martins, Bentleys, Jaguars, Range Rovers, and Rolls-Royces with electric powertrains since their founding in 2018 by entrepreneur David Lorenz and engineer Jon Hilton.
The Lunaz Design remasters are built with powertrains developed in-house using only the highest-quality components, making historic cars practical for the everyday drive. Depending on the automobile and powertrain choice, the range of the cars are equivalent to leading modern EVs.
In combination with the best of both worlds, Lunaz brings back the style of the old times while welcoming the convenience of the modern times. The company has established a solid reputation in its early life as Lunaz Design remasters Aston Martin DB6s, 1955-1965 Bentley Continentals, Jaguar XK120s, Classic Range Rovers, and 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantoms. Our favorite of the Sixties Brits has got to be Lunaz’s most recent offering, the DB6.
The legendary grand tourer has undergone a stunning makeover with a 255-mile expected range, a fast Combined Charging System (CCS), and upgrades to the braking, suspension, infotainment, and navigation systems. The addition of batteries, quick electric motors, and modern suspension and steering will significantly improve the driving experience of these indisputably gorgeous cars. The DB6’s iconic shape remains untouched and is surely still considered one of the most beautiful cars ever created.
Each of the Lunaz Design remasters take place at Silverstone Technology Park and include bare metal repair, 3D scanning, weighing, and balancing, along with the removal and storage of the original engine and gearbox. The cars are lovingly restored with sustainable luxury materials, re-engineered for clean battery-electric drive, and digitized for modern driving.
With the electric vehicle being the preferred mode of transportation for the future of all major automotive manufacturers, it’s not surprising to see they’re becoming more common in big cities and likely to be implemented in smaller ones as well. As Lunaz Design remasters Aston Martins and more cars moving forward, their goal of creating the most opulent electric vehicles will continue the legacies of some of history’s most beautiful automobiles.
