The Hummer EV AWD eBike complements its truck cousin oh so well
The newly revealed Recon x GMC Hummer EV AWD eBike is the perfect companion vehicle for the hefty GMC Hummer EV and is scheduled to go on sale this December. With all the bells and whistles you can ask for in an eBike, there’s only one feature we’ll be missing out on — the Hummer EV crab walk.
Equipped with two 48-volt, 750W electric Balfang hub motors and all-wheel-drive, the Recon x GMC Hummer EV AWD eBike is built for the off-road just how the Hummer EV is. Also like the Hummer, the hardtail “super eBike” boasts a hefty frame with a two-tone color scheme.
“GMC is excited to collaborate with Recon as they develop the GMC Hummer EV AWD eBike,” said GMC marketing director Rich Latek. “With design cues and inspiration taken directly from the GMC Hummer EV supertruck, this eBike further expands customer’s ability to explore different off-road trails, whether in the vehicle or out on the bike.”
Additionally, the Hummer eBike has a set of all-terrain, puncture-resistant fat knobby tires that should make it simpler to traverse on all kinds of trails. With a max power output of 1,200W, this AWD eBike can reach a max speed of 28 mph. It also has three ride settings: Cruise, Traction, and Adrenaline. These settings deliver power to the rear wheel, front wheel, or both wheels simultaneously.
The Recon x GMC Hummer EV AWD eBike is powered by a 17-Ah LG battery that may be upgraded to a 21-Ah battery concealed in its downtube. No stated range was provided, however the Stryker, Recon’s other AWD vehicle, has a range of 30 to 50 miles between charges. Equipped with a power inverter, we’re able to charge the bike when we’re out and about.
Priced at $3,999 the Hummer eBike will soon be available for online ordering and at GMC dealerships nationwide.
