If you’re an outdoor enthusiast that partakes in both foiling and surfing, the Scubajet Performance Series Hybridboard has got you covered. Austrian-based company Scubajet has introduced a brand new innovative board that integrates both an electric foil board and an electric surfboard.
“E-foiling and e-surfing are two different passions of mine, and I don’t want to miss out on either,” says Scubajet CEO Armin Kundigraber. “The Hybridboard solves exactly this problem. We poured our heart and soul into every detail of the Performance Series design, development, and production. Innovation, usability, and purpose have been paramount to us from the start.”
With a push of a button, this ground-breaking new board immediately flips between foil and surf modes without the need for any additional tools. Its changeable foil unit and powerful electric motor make it easy to customize your ride. Additionally, the board is made to be both lightweight and strong, making it ideal for all riders.
The Scubajet Performance Series Hybridboard is made of carbon fiber and measures 68.5 inches by 24.8 inches. The two 1.7 kilowatt-hour batteries add 44 pounds to the board, but it barely weighs over 25 pounds when the battery pack is removed. Expect up to three hours of foiling or 40 minutes of surfing per charge.
You can effortlessly alter the riding height with its adjustable foil unit to customize speed and stability. The max speed of the e-Foil is 31mph. When switching to e-Surf mode, the max speed is 8mph. Riders can use the Apple Watch Ultra as a dashboard or a wearable Scubajet remote. The speed is then controlled by a wireless trigger, and cruise control is built in at fixed speeds.
Available to pre-order now, the Scubajet Performance Series Hybridboard will cost $17,200. Shipping is scheduled to start in May/June this year.
