Three-Wheeled SIREMS Association Kairos EV Concept Features A New Tilting Tech

Check out the SIREMS Association Kairos EV concept below!

Utilizing a fresh and new tilting mechanism that prevents the cycle from tipping over, the SIREMS Association Kairos EV concept features a number of safety features that are designed to help the stability of its riders. Designed by French designer Matthew L’Hopitault, this three-wheeler promises an experience like no other.

As most trikes have two wheels at the front, the SIREMS Association Kairos EV concept reverses this trend by having its wheels at the back. By dispersing the rider’s weight over the rear wheels, which bear the majority of the torque, this deliberate positioning maximizes traction. The Kairos’s ability to lean into bends, made possible by its tilting rear wheels, is the core of its agility.

Two Mobile Lateral Elements (MLEs) are positioned on either side of the front wheel and adjust to the vehicle’s tilt when cornering. These moving components help balance the vehicle, lowering the possibility of it toppling over and ensuring stability in addition to preventing the vehicle from touching the ground.

To achieve the highest level of safety, the Kairos features Programmed Restraint Device (PRD). This triangle wedge serves as a protective shield in the event of a frontal collision and is placed strategically across the cockpit. By absorbing inertia and connecting to the vehicle through an advanced locking mechanism, the PRD keeps the rider from being thrown over the vehicle.

The PRD is also designed to respond to emergencies in a dynamic manner. Thanks to the vehicle’s innovative safety engineering, in the unlikely case of a flip, the EV instantly disengages, enabling the rider to be safely removed from harm. Wait, haven’t we seen this in a Batman movie?

By ensuring a more regulated and seamless navigating experience, the new features of the SIREMS Association Kairos EV concept pushes the limits of electric vehicle dynamics. That said, we have to wait quite a bit for its debut as the Kairos is expected to be introduced to the market in 2028.
