New Solar-Powered Spaceline Catamaran Series Announced

Ultimate Catamarans and Luxury Projects reveal their Spaceline Catamaran series

A brand new Spaceline Catamaran series from German outfit Ultimate Catamaran and the Italian Luxury Projects have been introduced. The line of multihulls include three models, all equipped with the latest in green technology and the comforts of a superyacht.

The collaboration between the two companies brings us the Spaceline Catamaran series that consists of the 26.8-meter Spaceline 88, the 36.5-meter Spaceline 120, and the 45.7-meter Spaceline 150. A hybrid propulsion system made up of solar panels and batteries is included within each model. It’s comparable to the mechanism found on Silent’s selection of solar-powered catamarans. According to the team, the catamarans will also be “hydrogen-ready” and may eventually use fuel-cell technology.

The smallest of the Spaceline Catamaran series is the Spaceline 88 catamaran which has a nautical mile range of 2,500 miles, Ideal for day trips, eight passengers can stay on board across the four cabins in addition to the crew of five. Labeled as a pocket catamaran, the Spaceline 88 catamaran features a volume of 270 GT that allows for 2,000 square feet of internal space.

In the middle of the pack is the Spaceline 120 catamaran that has a range of 3,500 nautical miles and an interior of 3,700 square feet with five cabins that’s suitable for 12 passengers. Highlighted with luxurious amenities including a gym, spa, and a large sundeck, the Spaceline 120 catamaran’s layout can also be customized.

The flagship of the Spaceline Catamaran series lies in the Spaceline 150 catamaran, a 4,300 square foot interior, 640 GT offering that also bodes a 7,500 square foot exterior. She offers seven days at sea and could potentially be equipped with an ice-class steel hull. The Spaceline 150 catamaran features an enormous helipad aft as well as five rooms that can accomodate 12 guests—one of them an 861 square foot owner suite.

Although catamarans aren’t traditionally the most luxury of ships, Ultimate Catamarans and Luxury Projects are on pace to change the norm.
