Take A Look At Ken Block’s Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron

Audi built an exclusive all-electric Audi S1 e-tron Quattro Hoonitron

There’s a new beast in town, the Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron. Professional rally driver Ken Block, German automotive manufacturer Audi, and motor racing team Hoonigan have come together to unveil the next Gymkhana prototype which takes inspiration from the Pikes Peak-winning Quattro S1 from the 1980s.

Ken Block has competed in over 80 rallies and 60 rallycross events, and has raised in popularity due to his hit YouTube series Gymkhana where he performs extreme driving stunts. After parting ways with longtime partner Ford Motor Company, Block has now teamed up with Audi AG.

“Audi gave me the opportunity to test it for a few days in Germany,” said Ken Block. “I’m familiar with a wide variety of cars using internal combustion engines and transmissions, but there were a lot of new things for me to learn here. Spinning into a donut at 150 km/h directly from a standstill, just using my right foot, is an all-new experience for me.”

Set to be featured in Ken Block’s next video, the Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron is an all-electric rebuild of the classic race car that showcases similar big box flares, rally lights, and even the giant wing. Audi’s design team reportedly drew up the Hoonitron in just four weeks, and development was handled by Audi Sport who are responsible for producing the R8 and e-tron GT.

Aside from the aesthetics, there isn’t too much detail on the Hoonitron’s powertrain, but Audi has stated that two electric motors will be driving power to all four wheels. The Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron has a carbon-fiber chassis and is built to the FIA’s safety requirements which govern Formula One and the World Rally Championship.

Elektrikhana, the title for the upcoming Gymkhana video, will be released in 2022 in just a few months. The Audi Hoonigan race car appears to be ruthless and we can’t wait for its debut.
