The ZiGGY robotic mobile EV charger will locate your EV and charge it

Meet the new autonomous robot, the EV Safe Charge ZiGGY robotic mobile EV charger. ZiGGY will not only locate a parking space for the user, it’ll charge their EV’s battery while they’re out running errands. The whole charge and go concept sounds super convenient, but is it practical?

The ZiGGY robotic mobile EV charger will locate a parking space in a lot once the user has scheduled a charging session while using a mobile app or the EV’s infotainment system. Then it’ll reserve the spot, and upon arrival, allow the user to hook the plugs and charge their car battery.

Charging speed for the EV Safe Charge ZiGGY hasn’t been disclosed by the company, but they’ve confirmed to Eletrek that Level 2 charging (12-80 miles per hour) will be accessible at launch. EV Safe Charge added that Level 3 charging (3-20 miles per minute) will also be possible. ZiGGY will then be able to recharge itself when it returns back to base. Another option is for it to utilize the parking lot’s grid or its battery storage solar energy.
