SRAM promises to make trail riding easier with the new SRAM Eagle Powertrain e-bike motor and drivetrain system, which features integrated components, automated shifting, and only two support modes. There will be two batteries available — a compact 630Wh unit intended to be used with “open” down tubes, and a larger, 720Wh battery that fits inside the frame and is intended for “closed” down tubes.

It is stated that both batteries on the SRAM Eagle Powertrain e-bike motor may be charged on or off the bike and are simple to remove with a single Allen key. On the other hand, some Eagle Powertrain bike models have batteries that are fixed in place.

There is also a 250Wh range extender that fits to the bottle bosses of the bike. When the extender is mounted and the bike is in Rally mode, the motor uses up the main battery while the extender is in Range mode. Auto Shift is another feature built into the software. It enables the drivetrain to automatically change gears even in varied power settings and to choose the appropriate gear for the rider’s current pedaling cadence.
