The Biktrix Juggernaut FS XD electric MTB packs a punch
With over 2,000 watts of power, Canadian bike manufacturer Biktrix has revealed their Biktrix Juggernaut FS XD electric mtb. The Biktrix team had to create an in-house unique mid-drive motor for the new e-bike.
The company designed a mid-drive engine that makes the bike more balanced and allows riders to maintain the amount of control that’s expected from the conventional mountain bike. The rear wheel is fed by a higher-spec chain and sprocket set on the left side of the bike by a second powertrain that Biktrix created specifically for the motor power.
“The innovative Coaxial-Drive motor provides all the handling and weight distribution benefits that come with a mid-drive motor.” stated Biktrix. “But with all this power you need a drivetrain to handle it! The Juggernaut XD features a motor side drivetrain designed specifically to handle the power this motor puts out to keep this bike even more reliable than your average mid-drive motor.”
Obviously with a motor that size, a sizable battery will come along with it. The Biktrix Juggernaut FS XD electric mountain bike is equipped with a 52V 17Ah battery with 910 Wh of capacity. An estimated range of 40 miles comes with this “juggernaut” of a vehicle.
The front and rear axle hubs of the wheels measure 15 mm and 12 mm, respectively. Dual-piston hydraulic calipers with 180mm and 220mm rotors are used in the brakes. The transmission is an 11-speed SRAM NX. Additionally, tire size options come in 26”×4″, 27.5”×3″, and 26”×4.8″.
With a price tag of $5,999, the Biktrix Juggernaut FS XD electric mtb is a costly investment, but there’s currently a $1,000 discount as part of the e-bike’s launch. As an added bonus a $100 deposit will grant another $500 discount, dropping the total to $4,499.
