$655,000 Frauscher X Porsche 850 Fantom Air Electric Speedboat Uses Macan EV Tech

The zero-emission Frauscher X Porsche 850 Fantom Air electric speedboat has been unveiled

A collaborative effort between Austrian yacht maker Frauscher and German marque Porsche will introduce the 850 Fantom Air electric speedboat, a new 28-footer that’s based upon Frauscher’s 858 Fantom Air motor yacht. The 850 will feature the automatic drive technology of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE).

Porsche will be introducing the same technology in their upcoming Macan EV, consisting of a recently developed permanently excited synchronous electric motor (PSM), a lithium-ion battery with a total capacity of about 100 kWh, and power electronics. The boat will be limited to only 25 units, and its design and interiors will be created in-house by Porsche’s own design studio, Studio F.A. Porsche.

A 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is expected to power the electric drivetrain based on the Porsche PPE platform. It is also claimed that an 800-volt system is connected to the electric motor. The performance statistics are yet unknown, and it’s unclear if the 850 can match the 45 knot top speed of the 858.

The Frauscher X Porsche 850 Fantom Air electric speedboat won’t hold back while providing its abundance of amenities. The speedboat can comfortably fit nine passengers, and it’s situated on an 8.7-meter-long hull. Features include a swimming platform, sun lounge, luxury sound system, and a refrigerator.

The 850 will take its sweet time to fully charge its batteries, in contrast to ICE-powered boats. Porsche has confirmed that both slow AC and DC rapid charging are compatible with the 850.

If you bypassed the price tag, let us kindly remind you. The Frauscher X Porsche 850 Fantom Air electric speedboat will run you $655,000. Good luck getting your hands on one.
