Full-Carbon Specter 1 S-Pedelec Electric Bike Now Available For Pre-Orders

Ghest, Belgium-based Specter have launched their quick and powerful S-Pedelec electric bike, and with a top assistance speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) in Europe, it’s also considered road legal. The company is in progress of getting the S-Pedelec certified in other countries and will provide a customized model without a restriction for non-European markets.

Specter takes pleasure in creating and producing their own hardware and software, maintaining lean supply chains, and never sacrificing quality. The S-Pedelec electric bike is made completely out of carbon fiber and is super lightweight weighing at only 43.6 lbs (19.8 kg). Available in black, silver, green, and blue, as well as small, medium, and large sizes, the standard version is built with a mid-motor that produces 700 watts and about 74 ft-lb (100 Nm) of torque.

The upgraded performance model of the Specter 1 S-Pedelec electric bike comes at 730 watts and about 83 ft-lb (112 Nm) of torque. Opting out of the fully automatic gear system from the standard version, the performance variant has a manual 7-speed gearbox with a belt drive, increasing the top speed to 28mph (45 km/h).

The longer-range model can travel up to 99 miles (160 km), while the detachable 750 Wh battery offers an average range of 37 miles (60 km). A 220 V outlet will allow you to finish the battery’s complete recharge in just over 3 hours. There’s also a display with 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity that’s integrated into the bike’s handlebars, which allows for switching ride modes, vehicle settings, and turn-by-turn navi.

Although the Specter 1 S-Pedelec electric bike is not yet in production, those interested may pre-order with a $210 deposit through the Specter website. The starting full price of the S-Pedelec will be $8,620 with deliveries to begin in September 2022.
