Ducati Futa Racing Electric Bike First Look

The Ducati Futa racing electric bike is the company’s first pedal-assisted electric roader

Italian motorcycle company Ducati Motor Holding has revealed their new Ducati Futa racing electric bike, a road bike designed for a fast and efficient ride. Ducati is making an even greater push into the e-bike industry with this move, expanding their product line which already includes high-end mountain bikes.

It’s safe to expect the expensive price tag as the Ducati Futa racing electric bike will cost approximately $8,470. Of course, the huge price will suffice in the build quality using high-end materials such as carbon fiber for the bike’s monocoque frame that’s designed for prolonged performance. The Futa is also aerodynamic and comfortable, the result of the Ducati brand’s evolution of creative and efficient features.

The Ducati Futa racing electric bike has a 250W FSA System HM 1.0 rear hub motor with an integrated FSA battery pack, totaling a weight of 27.3 pounds (~12.4kg). The rear hub motor on the e-bike includes a 2 x 12-speed wireless electronic shifting arrangement. K-Force WE hydraulic disk brakes are found on the 160mm FSA rotors, while Garmin provides the GPS-enabled control located on the handlebar. An additional 250W battery pack could be installed to increase its range from 50 miles to 100 miles (80km to 160 km).

Also revealed is the limited edition of the Ducati Futa racing electric bike with only 50 units in production, each numbered and built with components that make it lighter than the standard model from 27.3 to 26.9 pounds (12.4kg to 12.2kg). We wouldn’t dare to leave you without the price, the limited edition version is a whopping $13,200.

The Futa racing electric bikes are expected to ship in October 2022 across both Europe and the US.
