The new 62-foot Senses 62 solar catamaran combines comfort, mobility, and sustainability
As Soel Yachts states, right from the start the Senses 62 solar catamaran has been a seamless integration of various spaces, openness, and diverse use of its features. The Dutch yard have been trying to improve and adapt the emerging capabilities of electric boats by applying advanced efficiency in their battery lineup for over half a decade. The new Senses 62 merely adds to the creativity of their design and technological expertise.
Soel Yachts have officially introduced its Senses 62 to the public, along with some astounding specifications. The energy-autonomous electric catamaran powers and replenishes itself and its onboard amenities with battery packs and solar panels that generate 50 kWh of clean green energy. This eliminates the requirement for docking and allows the ship to refuel while at sea. It also offers DC rapid charging capabilities when docked.
The Soel Yachts Senses 62 solar catamaran is built with two propulsion systems. The vessel’s Cruise propulsion system provides for a battery capacity of 282 kWh, as well as a 100kW DC generator powered by two 100 kW electric motors. Its Power propulsion system includes two 200 kW electric motors, a 150 kW DC generator, and a 424 kWh lithium battery set, allowing it to reach a top speed of 14 knots.
There’s also an option to add an additional battery with a capacity up to 564 kWh to the Power propulsion system. According to Soel Yachts, the electric propulsion systems paired with the solar panels allow the Senses 62 solar catamaran to have “trans-ocean range”.
Multiple lounges, an office, two dining rooms, and an open galley with a bar are included in the opulent living facilities onboard. The Soel Yachts Senses 62 solar catamaran can carry up to nine passengers and three crew members along with its separate cabins.
Starting at a price of $2.95 million, an official launch date has yet to be confirmed, but reservations are made available on the Soel Yachts website.
