The Bouvet Marine Supermarine MM01 electric jet ski is the world’s first hyper-jet
Officially announced, the Bouvet Supermarine MM01 electric jet ski is set to become the world’s fastest, and most expensive, jet ski. Designed and built in France by Bouvet Frères Marine, the luxurious electric jet ski is scheduled to be delivered in 2024. The French company claims the Supermarine MM01 is to a jet ski as “what a hypercar is to a car”.
Every mode of transportation seems to have its own insanely fast and expensive model, and the Bouvet Marine Supermarine MM01 electric jet ski is right on the dot when it comes to watercrafts. If Tron and Waterworld had a baby, this would be the main feature of the new film. 30 units of the Supermarine MM01 will be built—15 in the white pearl color “Nacre”, which translates to “mother-of-pearl” in French, and 15 in a “Black Edition”.
The Bouvet Marine Supermarine MM01 electric jet ski is powered by a 300-horsepower (220 kW) electric motor with 332lb-ft torque and a max speed reaching 75 mph/120 kph. The power will come from a lithium battery, which can be charged in about 50 minutes.
Although it’s still in pre-production, Bouvet Marine will construct the final form of the Supermarine MM01 with a Kevlar carbon monocoque frame design with an interchangeable sponson blade. The build will also consist of titanium throttle paddles, brake paddles, and handlebars.
Amongst other features, riders can find a leather-lined 110-liter front trunk for storage, a modular two-seat saddle with a retractable cover, and a cockpit with a navigation system. Down to the programmable buttons, every feature of the cockpit was built with the pilot in mind. There’s even a champagne holder under the saddle!
Pricing of the Bouvet Marine Supermarine MM01 electric jet ski has not been confirmed, but the company has stated that the MM01 wasn’t intended to compete with other jet skis on the market. In other words, we should expect the Supermarine MM01 to be “très, très cher”.
