Get ready for the Lucid Gravity electric SUV
Expected to arrive in 2024, the Lucid Gravity electric SUV is the luxury EV automaker’s first ever SUV and their second electric vehicle to date. Revealed today by the California-based company were new photos of the Gravity along with some details about the upcoming car’s performance and range.
With three rows in its interior, there’s room for up to seven passengers in the Lucid Gravity electric SUV. There’s a modular configuration that enables more spacious seating for five to six passengers, along with recliners in the second row. The images also show off Lucid’s Glass Canopy roof, which is transparent and extends from the dashboard to the third row, allowing the interior to vibe on a more comfortable ambiance.
The interior will also adhere to the automaker’s Lucid Space design philosophy, which was first used on the Air and promises even more cargo area than the sedan. Lucid’s organically curved Glass Cockpit high-res displays will be featured in the front-row running the Lucid UX software interface.
Lucid Group claims that the Gravity will have more range than “any other EV on the market,” excluding the Air. We’re expecting somewhere well above the 400 mile mark. The claim made that the Gravity will have “supercar performance” is even more intriguing. As of now, details on the powertrain have not been provided, but we are to expect multiple electric motors generating 1,000 horsepower or more.
“Gravity builds upon everything we have achieved thus far, driving further advancements of our in-house technology to create a luxury performance SUV like none other,” said CEO Peter Rawlinson. “Just as Lucid Air redefined the sedan category, so too will Gravity impact the world of luxury SUVs, setting new benchmarks across the board.”
Reservations for Lucid Gravity electric SUV will start taking place in early 2023, with the first vehicles arriving in the US in 2024. The luxury automaker will provide more information and specifications as the order books open.
