The highly anticipated Silent Yachts Silent 62 has been unveiled
The Silent Yachts Silent 62 electric catamaran has just been revealed by the Austrian yard and is set to debut at the upcoming 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival later this year in September. Known as the Silent 62 Three-Deck, this newcomer is the yard’s first tri-decker, with a fully furnished third deck spanning 164 square feet.
At the deck, the Silent Yachts Silent 62 can be set up as an owner’s suite, an open sky lounge, or a closed sky lounge. The owner can access their master suite, which features a private aft balcony, 360 degree views, and an ensuite bathroom, by climbing to the top deck.
The open sky lounge includes a galley, bar, fly helm, 12-seat dining table, and comfortable sofas. Below, the decks will feature four staterooms, a crew cabin, and the aforementioned 164 square-foot main salon. On the exterior, this catamaran features lounges in the bow and aft and a hydraulic stern platform that can hold a 13-foot vessel.
The in-house team at Silent Yachts created the multihull, which has a sleek exterior and a reverse bow that can break through waves. In addition, the cat includes 42 solar panels with a maximum output of 17 kWp, a 150 kW diesel generator, a 286 kWh lithium battery, and two 340 kW electric motors.
Silent Yachts claims the 62 has limitless range and is capable of cruising 100 miles a day solely by using the sun’s energy. Due to this, the cat’s operating expenses are substantially less than those of conventional motor yachts with diesel engines. The Silent 62 Three-Deck can also reach a maximum speed of 18 to 19 knots or simply cruise at six to eight knots.
